What We Collect
To enable you send and receive exciting updates to and from contacts, Palplay collects certain information when you access the service. We collect and store information regarding your credentials, that is a selected username, password and your phone number for complete uniqueness of your identity. Your phone number enables us identify you as a user on your friend’s device so that they may add you as a pal on the app. We also store recorded snippets you post for future retrieval anytime you log on to the service. These posts may also contain favourites information, song title and artiste’s name(as stored on your device) which we also collect. Finally, messages exchanged with pals are also stored for future retrieval each time you send or receive a message.
What We Share
We share your username with other users who have your phone number in their device phonebook. When other users view your profile, they will be able to view profile information, that is your username, your snippets and the number of favourites you have per post. Once a contact has your phone number they can automatically add you as a pal without notifying you and they have access to your profile information. You will also have to add this contact as a pal too to view his/her profile information. Posts from all pals are loaded on the home page. Each post is made up of the recorded song snippet, pal’s username and a timestamp representing how long ago the post was shared. Texts and photos may be attached to the post which will of course be shared with other pals on the home page. Each post also provides information regarding the song title and the artiste’s name (as stored on the device) when clicked on. Your pals are able to see this information on your profile page or on their home page if the added you as a pal. Song snippets recorded from external sources; that is, snippets that are recorded from songs from other sources other than your device do not provide information regarding song title and artiste name. The term ‘External’ is shown when these types of posts are clicked.
Users may decide to share to other apps to inform their friends of their recent posts. These shares may contain song title and artiste name of the song(as stored on the device) from which the snippet was recorded.
